This type of helmets was used during Russian civil war, winter campaign, and early WWII. This one is rare, because it was produced not in Finland, as many other M17 helmets, but in Russia - the top piece is not welded to main body, but pinned by 3 pieces.

Repainted black from original green (some spots still visible) and sold to civil defence and firefighters in 19 Finnish m17/18 aka Sohlberg civil defence helmet.
