Our mission The Foundation holds Rotary Peace Forums. In an early foray into international peace events, the Foundation organizes a series of peace forums in a three-year pilot. The first three are held in Evanston, Illinois, USA; San José, Costa Rica; and Nice, France. Such a strong support, together with the involvement of the Rotarians worldwide, ensures a secure future for the Rotary Foundation, in which its vital works for international understanding and world peace are continued. The Rotary Foundation is organized as a public charity operated exclusively for charitable purposes and governed by a Board of Trustees. The operations of Rotary International, a member organization, are overseen by its Board of Directors. The headquarters of Rotary International and The Rotary Foundation are in Evanston, Illinois, USA. The Rotary Foundation is a non-profit corporation that supports the efforts of Rotary International to achieve world understanding and peace through international humanitarian, educational, and cultural exchange programs. It is supported solely by voluntary contributions from Rotarians and friends of the Foundation who share its vision of a better world. Outfitted in blue Rotary vests and flanked by armed military personnel, Rotary vaccinators wade through a sea of traffic to find any child who hasn’t received the polio vaccine.
